The charities we will be playing for are Gold Buckle Champions and Toys for Tots.
Below is a description of the charities with monies to be shared equally that are raised.
Gold Buckle Champions.... to further the education of equine health and safety while preserving our western heritage and history by means of promoting equine events incorporating the youth and community.
Toys for Tots..... The mission of the U.S.Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
The Charity Golf Tournament will be using a shamble format for this tournament.
A shamble is a type of golf tournament that combines elements of a scramble with elements of regular stroke play.
Like in a scramble, all members of a team of four tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole.
So you have a mix of features from the scramble and from stroke play. It’s nice to have four shots from the tee and be able to pick the best.
From there, though, the pressure’s on because you pick the best score amongst the four.
In order to allow all types of golfers we will take handicaps and for those that are not established we will take your last six games, bring your best and worst and we will figure your handicap.
