Well, this winter has turned out to be very cold and snowy, guess we were due since it has been a while since we have had this severe weather.

It does not really allow getting out and playing a round of golf, so we are headed to Las Vegas at the end of the month, in search of weather that will allow us to get in a round or two this winter.

This down time has not been for not.

I have gotten some painting done and sprucing up of the house. I will continue on my journey after vacation and get all chores done before the season starts.

The Idaho Cutting Horse Show will be here soon, and all of my attention will be turned to the event.

Golf Addicts will once again have a booth at the event and you can purchase product for this upcoming golf season.

Looking forward to having the newest products, the golf show in Florida is going on this week.

I have been receiving e-mails from our suppliers letting us know new products on the horizon!

So stay tuned as I will continue to update this week on what we can expect to see soon.

An outstanding public 18-holechampionship golf course surrounded by scenic views – simply spectacular!

The charities we will be playing for are Gold Buckle Champions and Toys for Tots.

Below is a description of the charities with monies to be shared equally that are raised.

Gold Buckle Champions.... to further the education of equine health and safety while preserving our western heritage and history by means of promoting equine events incorporating the youth and community.

Toys for Tots..... The mission of the U.S.Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The Charity Golf Tournament will be using a shamble format for this tournament.

A shamble is a type of golf tournament that combines elements of a scramble with elements of regular stroke play.

Like in a scramble, all members of a team of four tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole.

So you have a mix of features from the scramble and from stroke play. It’s nice to have four shots from the tee and be able to pick the best.

From there, though, the pressure’s on because you pick the best score amongst the four.

In order to allow all types of golfers we will take handicaps and for those that are not established we will take your last six games, bring your best and worst and we will figure your handicap.

This spring weather has been great so far, yes really warm days and then back to slightly cooler.

I was able to get a lot of the yard in shape before we really hit hot weather that stays for the month.

In the last couple of years it has been either to wet or cold, so pretty excited to have a lot of those chores out of the way.

Now it is time to focus on getting out to the golf course, I have been threatening to join a league so better get on it.

It is a late in the season but maybe they will let me tag along.

I have lost my golf buddy to a back injury this season so; need to find new playmates while he heals up.

We are still running lots of specials on all of your favorite golf items and of course new ones for the ladies.

Ladies golf bags and ladies golf gloves have new items added so take a look!

Talk Soon,

Spring in the northwest is always a mixed bucket of weather.

One never knows if it is going to snow, rain or be in the 70’s or warmer.

With that said as we wait to get out on the golf course, I am volunteering with an organization interested in getting youth unplugged, from electronics, internet and such just get up and moving.

Gold Buckle is the name of the non-profit organization.

So I helped put together a putt-putt tournament, at a cutting horse show, held at the Idaho Horse Park this week.

All of the people were great to work with, and found the concept of having horse events and golf together as an interesting concept.

Sue Marostica is an old friend, and has been involved with the Idaho Cutting Horse Association for years.

She facilitates these events; in addition she has founded, Gold Buckle to help get youth, more plugged into the community.

I will be writing more about these events as I become more familiar with the organization.

I am very excited to be involved and helping get the word out to all activates we will be offering during the coming months.

I want to Thank Leny at Fairview Golf Course for the use of putters, golf balls and the donation of a gift certificate for this event.

I have enclosed a link to the web site please take a minute and look at it.
